Front and Rear Dashcam FAQs

Check out the most common questions our customers asked. Still have questions? Contact our customer support.

Is a front and rear dash cam better than a front-only dash cam?

For many drivers, yes. A front-only camera records what happens ahead, while a front and rear system can also capture vehicles approaching from behind and incidents that happen near the rear of the car.

Do front and rear dash cams support parking mode?

Some front and rear models support parking mode, but the recording options and power requirements vary. If you want longer monitoring while the car is off, you may need a hardwire kit.

Are front and rear dash cams hard to install?

Front and rear dash cams usually take more effort than a front-only camera because the rear camera needs cable routing. Some users install it themselves, while others prefer professional help for a cleaner finish.

Why can’t I find the accident video on my dash cam?

Accident footage is usually saved in the Event folder when the dash cam detects vibration or impact. If you cannot find the accident video, first check whether the incident was within the camera’s field of view and whether the impact was strong enough to trigger the G-sensor. The video may also remain in the General folder, be split into the next recording segment, or be affected by SD card lag, sudden power loss, loop recording settings, or Event folder storage limits. Using a reliable memory card is important for stable accident recording.
