How to update the F1 dash cam?

Please follow the Steps below to upgrade your device:

1.Download the firmware to your PC;
2.Insert your microSD card (32GB – 512GB) to the camera, and then connect the camera to the computer through the USB port on the camera. Select “USB Connecting” on dash cam. Copy the firmware file (VT_F1.bin) from the computer to the microSD card, then unplug the camera from the computer and turn it off;
Note 1: the firmware file (VT_F1.bin) could not be recognized by computer, it could just be recognized by the dash cam, so don’t try to open it on PC or try to rename it, just copy it to the card.
3.Plug the camera to a power charger (not computer), or press the power button;
4.Then the camera will auto upgrade, and it will take about 30 secs to 1 min, during this time, the camera will not turn on and will not respond to any button or operation;
5.Once the dash cam upgraded successfully, it will turn on and work.
6.Please check the version of your device now (go to the System Setup menu and turn to the Version) and see if it is the same as the website show. If it is, then the camera has been upgraded successfully.
7.Format the microSD card when the update has been completed.

Why can't the Vantrue dash cam record videos in loops of 1 hour or longer?

The reason why Vantrue dash cam cannot record and save videos longer than one hour is due to the limitations of the memory card format. Most dash cams use memory cards formatted with FAT32, which can only support a maximum file size of 4GB. Videos longer than half an hour often exceed this size limit, preventing the dash cam from saving them as a single file.

What SD Card do we recommend?

We only recommend Vantrue, Samsung Endurance and Sandisk High Endurance/Max Endurance Card. To extend the life of your card, we advise to format your SD card every 3-4 weeks for regular everyday users and 2-3 weeks for heavy users to free up space on your memory card for new recordings.

Note: Samsung EVO Plus and PRO Plus cards are NOT recommended for use with Vantrue dash cam.

What to do if the dash cam shows "Card Error" or "Slow Card"

1. Format the SD card and update the dash cam to the latest firmware version.

2. Try a new recommended card.

3. If you have tried the above steps and the issue hasn't been resolved, please contact our support team via support@vantrue.net.

2. Check if the rear cable connection is securely plugged in.

3. Rotate the rear camera to see if it works well. if no, please contact us via support@vantrue.net.
